Start Young!
Start Young!

A well-maintained bike is a happy bike, and a happy bike means happier rides. Weekly or bi-weekly maintenance doesn’t have to be complicated. Think of it as a bonding session with your two-wheeled partner.

1. Check the Tires

Inspect your tires for wear and tear. Look for cracks, embedded debris, or uneven tread. Use a pressure gauge to ensure optimal air pressure—your tires are literally where the rubber meets the road. While you're at it, also check the axel alignment at the rear and look for loose spokes or dents at the rims!

2. Oil and Lubrication

Check your engine oil levels and top up if needed. Regularly lubricate the chain to ensure smooth operation and prevent wear. A well-lubed chain makes for a quieter, more efficient ride.

3. Brake Check

Test your brakes for responsiveness. Look at the brake pads to ensure they’re not worn down. If you hear squealing or feel a lack of grip, it’s time for adjustments or replacements.

4. Lights and Indicators

Ensure all lights—headlights, tail lights, aux lights and indicators—are functioning properly. Visibility is non-negotiable, especially during night rides.

5. General Cleaning

A clean bike not only looks good but also performs better. Dust, mud, and grime can affect various parts. A quick wash and wipe-down can prevent long-term issues.

Regular maintenance is a simple yet profound way to show your bike some love. It’ll thank you with smoother rides and fewer breakdowns.
